What You Need Before You Apply
Every rider application on New Errand and Logistics is reviewed by a real person on our admin team — there’s no automatic approval. To apply, you’ll need to have the following ready:
- Your full name and a working phone number
- A valid National Identification Number (NIN)
- A clear profile photo
- Your next of kin’s name and phone number
- Your motorcycle’s plate number, make/model, and colour, plus a photo of the bike
- Your bike’s registration document
- Your rider’s permit (or an equivalent valid riding document)
NIN verification is a hard requirement — there’s no way around it. It’s how we confirm who is actually riding for us, and it’s what makes it possible for Clients to trust the person showing up at their door.
What Happens After You Apply
Once you submit your application, it goes to our admin team for manual review. We may ask for additional information or a clearer document before deciding. Approval is at our discretion, and if your application is rejected, we’ll tell you — and where possible, why — so you know what to fix if you want to reapply.
How Jobs Actually Get Assigned
Goods Delivery jobs are broadcast to every approved Rider who has marked themselves available, regardless of which part of Ibadan they’re in — whoever accepts first gets the job. Market and Supermarket Errand jobs work differently: they’re coordinated directly by our admin team and assigned to a specific Rider (or, at times, fulfilled by a member of our own staff) rather than broadcast for open acceptance.
How Earnings and Payouts Work
Riders keep 70% of the fee for every completed delivery; the remaining 30% is New Errand and Logistics’ dispatch and platform fee. That 70% is only credited to your earnings ledger once the order has been marked delivered by you and confirmed as received by the Client — not just on marking it delivered.
Once earnings accrue, you can request a payout to your registered bank account from your earnings page at any time. Payout requests are reviewed and settled by our admin team — we don’t currently offer automatic or same-day payouts, so build reasonable processing time into your expectations.
If you genuinely delivered an order and the Client doesn’t confirm it, you’re not left without recourse — you can file a complaint through the app, and our admin team reviews it and decides whether the delivery should count for payout purposes.
Rules of the Road
As a Rider, you’re expected to, at all times:
- Ride safely, obey Nigerian traffic law, and wear appropriate safety gear
- Treat Clients, other Riders, and staff with courtesy and respect
- Only update an order’s status as things actually happen — never mark a step complete before it occurs
- Handle Clients’ items with reasonable care
- Never solicit a Client to pay you directly, off-platform
You operate as an independent contractor, not an employee — you choose when to make yourself available, and you’re responsible for your own motorcycle, fuel, and applicable taxes on your earnings.
