Same-Day Delivery in Ibadan: What It Actually Takes

Published 27 October 2026

“Same-Day” Means Different Things to Different Services

Some services advertise same-day delivery and really mean “sometime before midnight, if a rider happens to be free.” Others mean it literally — picked up and delivered within an hour or two of booking. Rather than make a vague promise, here’s a realistic picture of how dispatch delivery actually plays out on New Errand and Logistics, and what affects timing.

How a Delivery Gets Picked Up

When you place a Goods Delivery order, it’s broadcast to every approved Rider who has currently marked themselves as available — regardless of which part of Ibadan they’re in. The first available Rider to accept gets the job. In practice, this means pickup speed depends heavily on how many Riders are online and free at that moment, not on a fixed promised window.

What Actually Affects Timing

  • Rider availability — more Riders online at that moment means faster pickup.
  • Distance — the farther apart pickup and drop-off are, the longer the actual ride takes once a Rider is assigned.
  • Ibadan traffic — like any Nigerian city, certain corridors and times of day move slower than others, and that affects a rider’s travel time regardless of the platform.
  • Order type — a straightforward Goods Delivery tends to move faster than a Market or Supermarket Errand, which involves time spent shopping before the delivery leg even starts.
We don’t currently promise a fixed delivery window (such as “within 30 minutes”). What we do promise is a transparent fee upfront and an order status you can follow in the app from pickup through to delivery.

Where This Actually Works

Delivery and errand coverage currently spans Bodija Market, Ring Road, Dugbe, the University of Ibadan area, Samonda, Jericho GRA, Challenge, Akobo, Oluyole Estate, Iyaganku GRA, Mokola, Eleyele, Iwo Road, Agodi GRA, Ojoo, Agbowo, and the surrounding neighbourhoods. Orders between any two points within this coverage area are priced by the same base-fee-plus-distance formula regardless of which specific neighbourhoods are involved.

What You Can Do to Help Your Own Delivery Move Faster

  • Make sure your pickup and drop-off addresses are specific and accurate before confirming.
  • Keep your phone reachable — Riders may need to reach you to confirm details.
  • Fund your Wallet in advance so there’s no delay at the payment step.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a typical delivery take in Ibadan?

It depends mainly on Rider availability at the moment you book and the distance between pickup and drop-off. We don’t publish a fixed guaranteed window because both of those factors genuinely vary.

Can I track my delivery?

You can follow your order’s status in the app as it moves from pending to picked up to delivered.

Does delivery happen outside Ibadan?

Coverage currently focuses on Ibadan and its surrounding neighbourhoods — see the coverage area listed above.

What if no rider accepts my delivery right away?

The order stays broadcast to available Riders until one accepts. If you need to, you can cancel for a full refund to your Wallet before any Rider has picked up the item.
